When you create a Chatter account we collect your name, email address, username, and the community you choose as your home. When you post, comment, or react, that content is stored and associated with your profile. We may also collect basic usage data such as pages visited and features used to improve the platform.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve Chatter, personalize your experience, and send you important account notifications. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Your email address is never shared publicly - only your display name and username are visible to other users.
Community Content
Posts, comments, and reactions you create are visible to other members of your community by default. Content you post is associated with your public profile. Please do not share sensitive personal information in public posts.
Cookies & Local Storage
Chatter uses cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, though this will sign you out.
Data Retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your posts and profile information will be removed within 30 days. Some aggregate, anonymized data may be retained for platform analytics.
Your Rights
You can update or correct your profile information at any time from your profile page. You may request deletion of your account and data by contacting us at privacy@chatter.community. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Chatter is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email or an in-app notice.
